Donor Organ - Air EMS

When the call comes for a transplant, there is no time for delay. The Air EMS™ Communication Center provides an immediate response to ensure the patient, organ or transplant team is expedited to their destination within the allotted time.

With 24/7 communication and dispatch capability, Air EMS is well-familiarized with handling the urgent on-demand needs unique to United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), which manages the United States organ procurement and transplantation network (OPTN). The OPTN is a public-private partnership between various organizations involved in the U.S. donation and transplantation system.

In addition to providing transport for critical life-saving tissue and/or organ transplants and related medical procedures, Air EMS also provides on-demand transport for associated personnel – including surgical teams dispatched for donor organ recovery and even donor organ recipient patients themselves.

Air EMSTM, Inc. is an indirect air carrier which provides and coordinates air ambulance transportation. All flights are conducted in conjunction with a FAR Part 135 certificate carrier (or other AHJ for operations outside of the United States). This carrier assumes responsibility for the operational safety of the aircraft and shall have final authority to initiate, conduct or terminate any flight. All patient flights will be conducted under AHJ regulations for weather minimums, flight crew duty time limitations and weight and balance requirements.
