Air EMS™ Certified as Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business
January 5, 2016
Air EMS™, Inc. (Air EMS), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), announced today that the company has been verified by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Center for Veterans Enterprise. This certification is an important step in the continued growth of Air EMS by assuring procurement officials that Air EMS is now eligible to participate in the Veterans First Contracting Program with the VA.
According to the company President, Angela Hall, “Air EMS is proud to have completed the thorough verification process established by the Center for Veterans Enterprise. This program will allow Air EMS to market its services to the VA and other Federal agencies on a regional, nationwide and international level.” The Federal Government has established statutory goals for executive agencies to procure 23% of prime contracts to small businesses (3% to SDVOSB specifically). “Many agencies are not meeting their goals, especially in the SDVOSB sector. Air EMS would like to help.”
About Veterans First Contracting Program
The Veterans First Contracting Program was created under Public Law, P.L. 109-461, to verify companies that are eligible to participate in Veteran-Owned Service-Disabled (VOSB) and SDVOSB set-asides issued by the VA. As one of the largest procurement organizations in the Federal Government, this law provides the VA with a procurement hierarchy for open market contracts placing SDVOSB as the highest priority.
